YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Democrat Dan Almoney is seeking to represent the 92nd District of Pennsylvania. He will be running unopposed in the Democratic primary in April.

In 2022, Dan lost to incumbent Dawn Keefer in the general election after having run unopposed in the Democratic primary.

The York County native attended the Northeastern School District, participating in several extracurriculars such as baseball, marching band and the boy scouts. He would then earn a broadcast journalism degree at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2000.

Dan started his own York County-based video production company following being laid off at a local television station where he had worked. At the time of his layoff, his wife was pregnant with their daughter. He would eventually work for several full-time and part-time jobs in the field of communications while his wife pursued a career as a registered nurse.

During the time running his own company, Dan was afforded the time to engage with local organizations, non-profits and other members of the community.

Dan began his political career in 2022, announcing his bid for the Democratic party in order to give Keefer an opponent in the general race. “Democracy doesn’t work if you don’t have a choice,” Dan said of his reason for running in 2022.

The Democratic primary will take place on April 23, 2024.

The 92nd District consists of parts of York County including Dillsburg, Franklintown, Admire, Uno, Roler, Alpine, Erney, Nauvoo, Bunches, and Lewisberry.
