MIFFLIN COUNTY, Pa. — Update, Jan. 6: A second suspect in the shooting death of Paige Nikole Kibe, Trevor Alan Middaugh, 26, from Lewistown, turned himself in to State Police on Jan. 4, after a warrant for his arrest was issued on Dec. 30.

He is charged with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, kidnapping, criminal use of a communication facility firearms offenses, possessing the instruments of crime, and tampering with evidence in connection to the death of Kibe, whose body was found on Dec. 16 near a boat launch on the 100 block of River Road in Bratton Township.

Her death was ruled a homicide after investigators discovered she had suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

On Dec. 21, Michael Jason Kennedy, 44, of Yeagertown, was charged with criminal homicide and other offenses relating to Kibe's death.

Kennedy and Middaugh are accused of being part of a conspiracy to murder her. There are other men mentioned in the criminal complaint affidavit by investigators, but no one else has been charged at this point.

Kibe was allegedly killed by the suspects because they believed her to be in possession of several stolen guns, according to the complaint. A witness allegedly told investigators that they saw Kennedy and Middaugh with Kibe at the boat launch where her body was later discovered.

The duo questioned Kibe about the location of the stolen guns, and after she denied knowing where they were, the witness reported hearing two separate gunshots. Middaugh then returned to the vehicle the witness was riding in and told them to drive from the scene, according to the complaint.

Middaugh and Kennedy later warned the witness to remain silent about the shooting, the complaint states.

The investigation into Kibe's death is still active, and anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Lewistown at 717-320-1010.
