Police: Suspects used 'movie money' to run a scam at York Township Rutter's

One suspect used the phony cash to buy Cash App, then the other cashed out the app for real money, police claim.

YORK, Pa. — Police in York County are trying to identify two suspects accused of using phony money to work a scam at a Rutter's store in York Township.

According to York County Regional Police, on 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 9, one of the two suspects entered a Rutter's on the 2400 block of Cape Horn Road in York Township and used fake cash (money used on movie sets) to buy Cash App

The second suspect then entered the store and cashed out the Cash App for real money, according to police.
