PERRY COUNTY, Pa. — Update (10/22/21): State police have confirmed this incident is being investigated as arson.
A historic covered bridge burned to just its framework after a fire Thursday afternoon.
The Waggoner Mill Covered Bridge, which is just off of Shermans Valley Road in Northeast Madison Township, dates back to 1889 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

According to Perry County 911 dispatch, the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
