Motorcycle driver killed in multi-vehicle Franklin County crash

The crash was reported along the 6400 block of Molly Pitcher Highway South, according to Franklin County Dispatch.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — Emergency crews responded to a fatal crash in Franklin County.

According to Franklin County Dispatch, the crash was along the 6400 block of Molly Pitcher Highway South and was reported at 8:24 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23. 

Zachary Daley, 30, from Greencastle, was pronounced dead at the scene and the coroner was called, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

The PSP crash report states that Daley was traveling southbound in the right-hand lane of Molly Pitcher Highway, behind a car. The car reportedly attempted to change lanes from the right-hand lane to the left-hand lane. However, the motorcycle's front end struck the back end of the car, causing a rear-end collision.

The car continued in the northbound lane while the motorcycle was struck by the front end of a second car. 

As a result, Daley's motorcycle continued traveling off the northbound shoulder and struck a utility pole. 

Daley was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the first car involved was treated at the scene by EMS and released. The driver of the second car was transported to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment. 

The Green Castle Fire Department responded to the scene.
