Police are investigating bank robbery in Mechanicsburg

The suspect allegedly robbed a M&T Bank on Simpson Ferry Road Wednesday morning, police claim.

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Police are investigating a bank robbery in Cumberland County.

It occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at a M&T Bank branch on the 5200 block of Simpson Ferry Road in Mechanicsburg, according to Hampden Township Police.

The suspect leaped over the teller's counter and demanded money, police claim.

He was wearing a dark gray jacket, gray sweatpants and a black hat and sunglasses.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller, the suspect allegedly fled the scene in an older model white Cadillac Escalade with minor body damage to its rear bumper, police said.

No one was injured in the incident, according to police.
