A hotel housekeeper faces charges after she allegedly steals nearly $14,000 worth of jewelry from a guest. Swatara Township Police say a female guest from Philadelphia, stayed at the Holiday Inn on Lindle Road from March 8th to March 9th, Upon her return home she realized that she was missing her diamond engagement ring, her wedding band, and her Pandora bracelet.

She remembered the last she saw them was on a desk in her hotel room. She called the hotel, but they were unable to find her jewelry. The estimated value of the missing jewelry is $13,700.

The woman then called Swatara Township Police to file a report.  An investigating detective learned that Alicia Chacon, 26, of Harrisburg, who worked as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn, pawned items of jewelry matching the victim’s on March 10th in Lemoyne. Chacon was also the person who had cleaned the victim’s hotel room.

Charges against Chacon include Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property, and Theft of Property Lost, Mislaid or Delivered by Mistake.
