YORK COUNTY, Pa. – Charges against a Springettsbury Township woman in the death of her newborn child have been dismissed.
Kelsey Martin had been charged with Concealing the Death of a Child. The infant was discovered concealed inside a shoebox in the closet of her home on April 10, 2015. Martin had told investigators that she had no idea she was pregnant. She said that when the baby came out it was not breathing.
An autopsy was unable to determine if the infant was stillborn or born alive.
The York County District Attorney’s Office filed a Nolle Prossed on August 15 which means ‘will no longer prosecute’ the case. Judge Richard Renn signed off on Nolle Prossed on August 17, officially dismissing the case against Martin.
