Give Local York 2024 | Here's how much was raised

Since its founding, Give Local York has raised over $20 million for local nonprofits from thousands of donors across the state.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Give Local York 2024 set records, raising $5.1 million to benefit 323 York County nonprofit organizations!

This year, the 24-hour online giving event stuck to last year's formula, running from Thursday, May 2 at 9 p.m. through Friday night at 9 p.m. It's a change from midnight to midnight of years prior, designed to get more donations earlier.

The 24 hours of giving included events around the city of York.

This was the seventh annual Give Local York by the White Rose Leadership Institute. Since its founding, Give Local York has raised over $20 million for local nonprofits from thousands of donors across the state.

Another goal was met, as 12,444 donors participated in the fundraiser!

Dozens of participating organizations showcased themselves in downtown York as part of Give Local York. Benefiting non-profits include the Emigsville Band, York Fringe Festival, the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Heritage Village, Red Land Senior Center and Chasing the Rainbows.

"We are an all-volunteer organization, so any money that is given to us goes directly to support our programs, to support the maintenance of these historic buildings and the railroad," said Craig Sansonetti, the president of the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society.

It was a phenomenal showing from more than 12,444 donors who contributed $5,186,000 this year and counting, topping last year's $4.6 million event.

That number could climb higher as donations to the Give Local York website continue to be accepted.
