Fire crews battle two alarm blaze in York County. The fire broke out at around 3:30 this afternoon at R. L. Livingston Excavating along Blair Mountain Road in Carroll Township. Smoke from the fire was visible for miles.
The first fire crews on the scene report that there was an explosion. A company employee suffered a head injury and was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital. The fire quickly went to two alarms with additional fire crews with tankers summoned from Adams and Cumberland Counties. A firefighter was slightly injured when a portion of the roof of the building collapsed. A hazardous material team was also called to the scene. The investigation continues into the cause of the fire and explosion.
