CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A portion of the Pa. Turnpike is closed following a crash involving a tractor-trailer between the Carlisle and Gettysburg Pike exits.

According to fire officials, a tractor-trailer had been traveling westbound when it crashed into the median and went into the eastbound lanes in the area of mile marker 235.2 shortly after 11 a.m.

The most recent update from 511PA says all eastbound lanes at mile marker 235.2 are closed while the left lane on the westbound lanes is blocked.

Fire officials say bystanders rescued the tractor-trailer driver by pulling them through the windshield.

Turnpike officials said there were no injuries reported.

Cleanup of the scene may continue for another two hours, officials said.

Drivers traveling east on the turnpike can take US Rt. 11 North to I-81 North. Then they can take Rt. 581 East to US Rt. 15 South before finally re-entering the turnpike at the Gettysburg Pike Interchange.
