Camelback Resort looking to hire hundreds of workers

Camelback Resort has lots of jobs available ahead of peak season.

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — From the day the slopes close, attention shifts to prepare for sunnier days at the Camelback Resort near Tannersville.

The outdoor waterpark is starting to come to life as crews work to uncover the lazy river that was once covered with snow.

"It's an amazing transition, especially from the snow to the nice sunny weather. Especially from a park covered in snow where there's skiers on the mountain to a waterpark," said HR manager Hector Sabathie.

Hector Sabathie, the human resources manager for Camelback Resort, says the resort hopes to fill hundreds of jobs to prepare for peak season. The resort is gearing up for a job fair this weekend.

He says the resort is hiring for positions in food and beverage, ticket sales, and lifeguards.

"We have a lot of employees here, especially in the peak seasons when we have camel beach going on. We can have anywhere from 1,300 to 1,500 associates here at one time," explained Sabathie.

Recruiters know the job market in the Poconos is competitive, so they're increasing employee perks and incentives.

"We have a lot of great incentives, especially with the job fairs coming up. We're giving away a lot of neat prizes, tickets to come enjoy a lot of activities here at Camelback for anyone who comes in," added Sabathie.

Saturday's job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Other job fairs will be held on Friday, May 10, from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All fairs will be held at Big Pocono at Camelback Mountain Village, Camelback Resort, 301 Resort Drive in Tannersville.
