Police seek help identifying suspect in attempted bank robbery in Palmyra

Police say the driver of a red Honda Civic attempted to conduct a robbery through the bank's drive-thru lane, allegedly claiming to have a bomb.

PALMYRA, Pa. — Police are investigating an attempted bank robbery in Lebanon County.

It occurred Thursday morning at a Northwest Bank location on the 1000 block of East Main Street in Palmyra, according to North Londonderry Township Police.

At 10:09 a.m., police said, a red Honda Civic occupied by two people pulled up to the drive-thru window at the bank. The driver passed a note demanding money to the teller and said he had a bomb.

When the teller summoned a manager to look at the note, police said, the vehicle pulled out of the drive-thru lane and was last seen traveling south on Plaza Drive.

After reviewing surveillance footage of the incident, police were able to determine the driver of the vehicle was a white male in his 20's or 30's, with blond facial hair on his chin and a thin mustache. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. There was a passenger in the vehicle as well, also wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, according to police.

The Civic appears to be a 2016 or later model, police said. The vehicle was later seen traveling south on Forge Road (PA 117) toward Campbelltown (Route 322).

Anyone with information about the incident, the vehicle, or its occupants is asked to contact North Londonderry Township Police at (717) 838-5276 or email tips@nlondtwp.com.
