Coin worth $4,200 stolen from Lebanon County auction

According to police, an 1851-O Liberty Head Quarter Eagle coin worth $4,200 was taken from an auction on Dec. 13, 2023, and replaced with a dime.

LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a valuable coin reportedly stolen from a Lebanon County auction. 

According to police, an 1851-O Liberty Head Quarter Eagle coin worth $4,200 was taken from a lot that was sold at an auction on Dec. 13, 2023. 

An investigation determined that sometime between the close of the auction on Dec. 13 and the date the lot was shipped on Dec. 27, the coin was replaced by a dime. The dime was then shipped to the buyer, who discovered the missing coin.
