Man arrested after starting Lancaster County mobile home fire

LANCASTER, Pa. — Update, 7:45 p.m.: Police have confirmed that an arrest has been made regarding an early morning fire in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County.

Surrounding homes in the Conestoga Mobile Home Park were evacuated once officers arrived, and residents and fire personnel confirmed to police that the affected residence was vacant at the time of the fire.

West Lampeter Township Police stated that during the investigation the owner of the mobile home lot, Scott Seldadones, 53, admitted to intentionally starting the fire.

Seldaones was then taken into custody without incident.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall investigated and determined the cause of the fire to be an intentional act by Seldaones.

Seldaones was charged with Arson, Risking Catastrophe and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. He is currently being held in Lancaster County Prison after failing to post bail.

Previously: Firefighters responded to Conestoga Mobile Home Park for a reported fire around 12:20 a.m. Sunday morning in West Lampeter Township. 

Crews confirmed heavy flames showing upon arrival and the Willow Street Fire Company, assisted by the Lancaster Township Fire Department, battled flames at 1014 Willow Street Pike. 

No injuries were reported, but the home was destroyed by the fire. There is no number on how many people were displaced as a result.

West Lampeter Police and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal are investigating the fire.
