HARRISBURG, Pa. — A temporary employee who was working for the Susquehanna Township School District has been charged with sharing "inappropriate material" with a minor while working at Thomas Holtzman Elementary School, the school district said in a statement Friday.

Patrice Thompson, 40, of Harrisburg, is charged with Dissemination of Obscene and other Sexual Materials to Minors as well as Corruption of Minors as a result of an investigation into the allegations, according to Susquehanna Township Police.

The school district's statement said the accused was a contract worker employed by an external employment agency, and not the district.

After an investigation of the allegations, the school district terminated its relationship with the external employment agency, according to the district's statement.

"The safety and well-being of our students are of paramount importance, and we are committed to collaborating with law enforcement and relevant authorities to uphold a secure learning environment for both students and staff," the school district said in its statement.
