It’s the 4th of July weekend and if you’re entertaining this weekend you may be looking for something for the kids to do. Mindy Christian from YorkArts has a few creative ideas.
• Use paper, crayons and watercolors to create a crayon resist piece
o Red, white and blue colors are perfect for the Fourth of July
o This project is done in Art in the Parks, a free YorkArts program held in York city parks and housing communities each weeknight through Aug. 15. A full schedule is available at yorkarts.org.
• Use clean, empty plastic bottles and containers to create a plastic aquarium sculpture.
o There are no rules – just use your imagination and create something!
o Good for all ages who can manage scissors
o This project is done at YorkArts` Plastic Aquarium Sculpture Camp, which will run July 21-25
