THIS EVENING
Mostly clear skies as high pressure builds in. Winds will die down and become light to calm later. Temperatures will fall from the low 30s to the low 20s.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY goes into effect tomorrow at 3pm for the area because of a wintry mix heading our way. Traveling is likely to become hazardous and slow for the evening commute. We could pick up an inch of snow and up to a .10" of an inch of ice.
Moisture from our next system streams in and we could see light snow develop as early as 1pm. Sleet will mix in as warmer air invades the upper levels while surface temperatures remain in the 20s for much of the day. Freezing rain will also be a concern heading into the late afternoon and evening. Eventually rain will mix in once surface temps warm above freezing but this could take much of the afternoon and evening.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Highs will be mainly in the 20s for a good part of the day but once we get into the evening they will start to climb from around 30 degrees.
