Here is a look at the top health headlines from the week.

YORK, Pa. —

Sleep apnea could mean other issues

If you have sleep apnea, health experts say you should also watch for another problem: cardiovascular disease.

A professor at a college in London says the condition is often overlooked in patients who are suffering from the sleep disturbance.

According to health experts, blood oxygen drops caused by sleep apnea can strain the cardiovascular system and cause increased blood pressure. Those drops in oxygen can also reduce life expectancy.

Get ready for spring allergies

Spring is right around the corner, and if you are prone to allergies, you might want to start preparing now.

When trees start to bud, pollen begins to float in the air. It can cause itchy eyes, sneezing, coughing and post-nasal drip.

Doctors at the Cleveland Clinic say to combat the problem, follow these tips: keep windows closed despite warm temperatures, change clothes and shower at night to wash off any allergens you bring in during the day, and keep pets off your bed. They also say taking nasal steroids or oral and nasal antihistamines can also help relieve your symptoms.

Walmart to offer mammograms

You may be able to get a mammogram at a Walmart store near you soon.

Radiology firm RadNet teamed up with the company to offer mammogram services. A pilot program called MammogramNow launched at a Walmart supercenter store in Delaware back in December, and now RadNet says the program is expected to expand to even more Walmart stores this year.

The firm did not provide any other details, and Walmart has not yet released a statement.
