FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating following a domestic related shooting that left two people dead inside a Franklin County home.

According to Pennsylvania State Police reports, on April 24 around 7:25 p.m., troopers were sent to a home on Lenwood Park in Southampton Township for a reported domestic altercation that included shots being fired.

When investigators arrived at the scene, they established a perimeter around the home and attempted to make contact with the people inside.

After no contact was made, the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was used to make entry into the home, according to Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson Trooper Megan Frazer.

A 60-year-old man and 67-year-old woman were found dead in the home, Frazer said. Their identities have not yet been released.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation revealed that both people suffered gunshot wounds, and it is being investigated as a murder-suicide. An official cause of death is pending autopsy.
