Lancaster County woman arrested after stabbing hospitalized one

Police initially thought the incident was a shooting, but upon arrival, they discovered a victim was stabbed.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Lancaster County police confirmed a woman was arrested in the early hours of Saturday after stabbing another person. 

Martita Soto, 43, is facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance.

On March 16 at around 1:38 a.m., officers were called to a reported shooting in the 100 block of South Water Street.

Once on the scene, police discovered that it wasn't a shooting, but instead a stabbing.

Police stated the victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury and she was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officers arrested Soto who was identified as the suspect.

According to police, the initial incident happened in the 100 block of South Prince Street.

Soto is currently being held at Lancaster County Prison awaiting her preliminary hearing.
