Lancaster Barnstormers deck Clipper Magazine Stadium for holiday events

Clipper Magazine Stadium will be home to a number of events for the community throughout the holiday season.

LANCASTER, Pa. — The Lancaster Barnstormers are hard at work getting Clipper Magazine Stadium ready for a packed schedule of holiday events.

The Christmas Spirit Light Show is open now until Dec. 31. Visitors can enjoy thousands of Christmas lights set to music from the comfort of their vehicle as they drive along the mile-long track through the stadium.

Guests can enter the light show on Prince Street through the south entrance into the stadium. The show takes approximately 20 minutes to drive. There will also be holiday merchandise and seasonal food and drinks available for purchase when entering the show.

It is open on weekdays from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and weekends from 5:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. This is the sixth year the Barnstormers have put on the light show, and they say this year is bigger and better than ever.

"I suggest you turn the radio high, windows down, let the kids peek out the window and check out all the lights that we have," Mike Reynolds, Barnstormers general manager, said.

If guests haven't gotten enough holiday cheer after the Christmas Spirit Light Show, they're invited to step inside the stadium and stroll along Christmas Tree Lane.

Local businesses sponsored over 100 Christmas trees in support of local nonprofits. Visitors can enjoy the decorated trees from Dec. 1 - 23.

"When you come onsite to check out the trees, you're able to donate to your favorite tree; all of those proceeds go to the nonprofit," Reynolds said.

Christmas Tree Lane will also have festive activities and weekly theme nights, including free photos with Santa every night, photos with live reindeer on Thursdays, photos with holiday character on Fridays, Mrs. Claus on Saturdays and more.

The lane is open on weekdays from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and weekends from 5:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.

For those who prefer to see the Christmas Spirit Light Show on their own two feet rather than from the car, the Barnstormers will host the second annual Dashing Through the Lights 5k at 10 p.m. on Dec. 15. There will also be a one-mile walking option for anyone who would like to opt for a more leisurely pace.

Runners are encouraged to come in their best Christmas attire; the most festive dressed will receive a prize. Each participant will receive Dashing Through the Lights branded mittens and a post-race beverage at Clipper Stadium’s Broken Bat Craft Beer Deck.

Lancaster Silverball, located in the skybox suites at Clipper Magazine Stadium, is available for booking to host holiday group events. Featuring over 60 pinball and classic arcade games, the suite can be fully catered for corporate parties and more. The arcade is also open year-round.

Clipper Magazine Stadium is located at 650 N. Prince St. in Lancaster.
