LINGERING SHOWERS: A slow moving cold front keeps showers and some rumbles in the forecast through much of Monday, especially east. Through the morning, batches of rain move from southwest to northeast. Some heavier downpours are likely as well. It’s a muggy and warm start, with temperatures in the middle 60s to lower 70s. Slow drying takes place through the afternoon, especially west. Some breaks of sun are likely as well. It’s enough to warm afternoon highs into the upper 70s to middle 80s. Overnight the clouds gradually clear. It remains muggy, and some foggy spots likely develop late. Expect lows in the 60s to near 70 degrees.
WEEKEND COOLING: A potent cold front crosses through during the weekend, bringing our first blast of fall air. As the front crosses through Saturday, there’s added clouds and a small chance for a few showers or a thunderstorm. Highs are in the lower 80s. By Sunday, cool, Canadian high pressure briefly settles into the area. Temperatures drop to near 70 degrees!
