Starting in July BWI Airport increasing parking rates

The new rates will apply to vehicles entering the airport on or after July 1. Any vehicle parked prior to July 1 will pay the current rates.

BALTIMORE — After nearly 15 years, Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is raising parking rates. Beginning July 1, all parking will increase between $3 and $8.

In a press release, officials with BWI announced that the new rates will apply to vehicles entering the airport on or after July 1.

Current Rates:

  • $8 per day: Long-term Parking
  • $10 per day: Express Parking
  • $12 per day: Daily Garage
  • $22 per day: Hourly Garage
  • $9 per day: BWI Rail Station Garage

New Rates:

  • $11 per day: Long-term Parking
  • $14 per day: Express Parking
  • $16 per day: Daily Garage
  • $30 per day: Hourly Garage
  • $12 per day: BWI Rail Station Garage

The change is the first parking rate increase at BWI since 2009.

“This change will support the significant investment and innovative projects that are improving the airport experience for our valued customers,” said Ricky Smith, Executive Director/CEO of BWI Marshall Airport.

Currently, BWI Airport offers close to 25,000 parking spaces total for travelers. Officials say additional revenue will be used to make improvements to BWI’s parking service, including:

  • Installing a new navigation system in the Hourly Garage that allows travelers to locate available spaces more easily.
  • Eight new electric buses are being added to the airport’s shuttle fleet.
  • A parking reservation system.

The new rates are also expected to help free up spaces in the Hourly Garage for drivers meeting or dropping off travelers.
