LANCASTER, Pa. — A section of North Duke Street is closed in Lancaster due to a water main break, according to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police.

Officers arrived in the 700 block of the road at 4:48 a.m. on May 16 to find water flowing on the street. Police say part of the road surface has also been compromised.

No vehicle traffic will be allowed into the 700 block of North Duke Street, the Lancaster City Bureau of Police said. There are barricades placed at its intersection with East Clay Street. Southbound traffic is advised to detour to North Prince Street.

The water department has been notified and will make repairs. No timeline was given for when the repair will be complete, but officers did note that residents in the area will likely notice reduced water pressure and service.

Police ask anyone with a car parked in the 700 block of North Duke Street to move it.
