DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — More road work is coming to two major interstates in Pennsylvania.

The latest phase of a joint and crack sealing project will focus on Interstate 83 in Dauphin County and Interstate 81 in Franklin County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work is planned to start Saturday, April 28, weather permitting. PennDOT says there will be two crews working nightly—one crew on I-83 and another on I-81—from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights. Work is expected to be completed by July 10.

There will be rolling lane closures during work hours. PennDOT reminds motorists to drive with caution and be alert for construction vehicles and workers.

This work is part of a contract that includes joint and crack sealing on I-81 in Cumberland and Franklin counties, and I-83 and I-283 in Dauphin County.

Russell Standard Corporation of Pittsburgh is the contractor on this $364,665 project, according to PennDOT.
