Will the Phillies win the World Series this year? History says, it could happen

Every year the Phillies have won the World Series (1980, 2008) has been a Leap Year.

PHILADELPHIA — The 2024 MLB season will begin in earnest on Thursday, March 28, serving as Opening Day for most of the league's ballclubs.

Pending the weather forecast, the Philadelphia Phillies are set to host the Atlanta Braves to open the year and a quest for a National League East title.

However, the team's sights are not limited to making the postseason: this team believes its boom-or-bust for a World Series title.

After coming a game short of the World Series in 2023 and two games short of the title in 2022, these Phillies are primed for a deep postseason run.

It also helps that the team has a bit of history on its side, as well.

Every year the Phillies have won the World Series (1980, 2008) has been a Leap Year.

Of course, 2024 is a Leap Year, and while that doesn't cement anything, maybe it's just what these Phillies need to get over the hump.

The Phillies are set to host the Atlanta Braves to begin the season on March 28 at 3:05 p.m.
