Chop Robinson, former Penn State rusher, drafted by Miami Dolphins

The former Penn State defensive lineman will now begin his NFL career with the Dolphins.

DETROIT — Former Penn State defensive lineman Chop Robinson was drafted with the 21st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.

At Penn State's pro day,  Robinson said he was enjoying the pre-draft process.

"I’ve been enjoying it, it’s a dream as a kid," said Robinson. "You got to cherish every moment and take it one day at a time."

Robinson played his freshman season at Maryland and spent the last two years at Penn State. He was one of the leaders on a defense that ranked first in the nation in total defense and third in both rushing defense and scoring defense.

He had the sixth-highest pass-rush grade among players with over 100 pass-rush snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. In 35 games over three seasons, Robinson had 60 tackles, 20 for loss, and 11.5 sacks.

Now, he will begin his career in Miami.

Three-day rookie minicamps begin at the start of May for the NFL's newest players.
