BAINBRIDGE, Pa. — A Lancaster County native hopes to race to glory this weekend.
Seth Hammaker, of Bainbridge, will compete against riders from all over the world at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Competition in Philadelphia.
He's been preparing for the competition for a while--practically his whole life--ever since he watched his dad ride growing up.
"I just kind of started riding in the backyard for fun, and it just kind of took off from there," Hammaker said. "Growing up, I just raced some local races; we did it for fun as a family and stuff and didn't take it too serious, but the older I got I realized that I could take it to another level in the sport."
Hammaker went pro about three years ago and has been having a blast ever since. He says he's excited to compete at an event in a city so close to home, especially with his friends and family coming out to support him.
"The atmosphere the venue puts on, it's just really awesome," Hammaker said. "We got so many great riders in the championship and the battling is insane. It's gonna be awesome; the track looks like it's coming along really good, so, yeah, look for some intense racing action."
