Trio of local high school football standouts commit to play for Maryland Terps

York High's Michael McMonigle, CD's Anthony Robsock and Spring Grove's Michael Hershey are all going to play for the Terps

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The University of Maryland's line of scrimmage just received a heavy push of talent from District III.

A trio of local linemen all committed to play for the Terrapins on Wednesday. York High's Michael McMonigle, Spring Grove's Michael Hershey and Central Dauphin's Anthony Robsock made their choices official when they signed their letters of intent to suit up for Maryland.

"Working out with Michael Hershey for the past year or so I got to know him pretty well," admitted McMonigle. "Then talking to Anthony Robsock a fair amount and getting to go down there with those guys is pretty special."

"It makes you feel special being able to play in District III and the Mid-Penn Commonwealth," said Robsock. "It’s a lot of competition, I had to put on my best effort and best talent on the field and I'm happy that got noticed throughout college football."

Others may be shell-shocked that the Terps reeled in all three talented linemen. The recruiting process at times is stressful and leaning on familiarity together made Maryland feel like home.

"Once we all got on the boat for an official visit, we talked it over and decided that that’s what we wanted to do," said Hershey.

Other signing ceremonies took place all over the area. FOX43 was able to stop by Bishop McDevitt and Central York in addition to Spring Grove, York High and Central Dauphin.

The Crusaders had their usual impressive list of recruits signing at the next level, none more impressive than Rico Scott heading to Alabama to play wide receiver.

Central York RB Juelz Goff joined former Dallastown standout Kenny Johnson at Pitt.

The attached video features more from National Signing Day on Wednesday with additional interviews from Scott and Goff.
