White shuts out Blue, 27-0, in 2024 Penn State Spring game

Warwick's Nolan Rucci made his debut in Beaver Stadium on Saturday.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The winds were howling but the music was loud and the skies were mostly blue.

Penn State's annual Blue-White spring game brought tens of thousands of Nittany Lions fans to Beaver Stadium for the 2:00 p.m. kickoff.

The rosters were tilted in favor of the White squad and the end result was not a surprise.  The Blue failed to score and were shutout 27-0.

The coaches and fans got a good look at some of the returning veteran and young talent the team is counting on this Fall.  That includes Warwick grad Nolan Rucci along the offensive line.

“We’re all really excited about having Nolan on the team, but for me specifically, he’s a '717' guy, I knew him since high school," explained Central York grad and Penn State QB Beau Pribula. "Our brothers played together in the Big 33 game, it’s really cool to have him on Penn State finally, I feel like that’s where he belongs.”

As for Pribula, he begins his third year with the program and still has three years of eligibility left.

“I feel improved physically as an athlete but mentally, I feel like a whole different person," he said.  "From a maturity aspect, just everything that I’ve learned ever since I got here, what is it, almost three years ago now, it’s been really good.”

Pribula will once again push Drew Allar for playing time at quarterback.  The spring game caps the season after 15 full squad workouts.

Penn State opens up their 2024 campaign at West Virginia on Saturday, August 31.
