York Revolution pitcher, former MLB prospect passes away

YORK, Pa. — York Revolution baseball pitcher Ronny Garcia, 24, passed away on April 19th, according to the baseball team.

"The Revolution are saddened to learn that Revolution pitcher Ronny Garcia tragically passed away last night," York Revolution said in a social media post. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and teammates."

Additionally, Garcia was a former MLB prospect. The Houston Astros posted on social media, "We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Astros prospect, Ronyn Garcia."

The Fayetteville Woodpeckers wrote in part, "Ronny spent parts of three seasons with Fayetteville, always carrying a smile around the ballpark. He was a talented and a beloved teammate."

Garcia played for the Woodpeckers before signing with the York Revolution in February.
