Three people are dead after a house fire in York on Wednesday morning.

Crews were called out to the duplex home on Columbia Avenue around 6:15 a.m.

Three people were killed in the fire, according to the York County Coroner's Office. They have been identified as Giavanna Ricobene, 25, Victor Gonzalez, 24, and Gabriella Cruz, 17.

Giavanna and Victor were married, according to the Coroner's Office, and Gabriella was Victor's sister. Their cause and manner of death have not been released at this time.

Neighbors tell FOX43 they're saddened for the victims' family and friends.

“Just to hear three didn’t make it, it’s really sad…really sad," said Angie Englar. "They’re humans...they’re humans...how can you not feel for your neighbors?”

According to York City Fire Department Chief William Sleeger, there were no working smoke detectors in the home. He says all three victims were found on the third floor.

One firefighter sent out a distress call while battling the fire. Chief Sleeger says the firefighter fell through the floor but was not seriously injured.

“The floor had burnt out and this member had stepped in through as the floor gave way and got his leg stuck in the floor," said Chief Sleeger. "He was able to extricate himself and keep moving”

The investigation into the cause and other details surrounding the fire is ongoing.
