Woman dead after crashing into utility pole in Springettsbury

Emergency responders found the woman awake and outside of her car at the scene, but her condition quickly worsened.

YORK, Pa. — A 35-year-old woman was killed in a crash in Springettsbury Township Friday morning, according to the York County Coroner. 

Around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning, the woman's car crashed into a utility pole in the area of Stonewood Road and Trowbridge Road in Springettsbury Twp. According to the Coroner's release, the woman was not buckled in at the time of the accident. 

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the woman awake and outside of her car. However, her condition quickly worsened and she became unresponsive. 

After being transported to Wellspan York Hospital, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 4:56 a.m. 

The Coroner's release rules the manner of death as accidental and due to blunt force trauma from the crash.
