YORK, Pa.-- Looking to put a new spin on the same, old Thanksgiving meal?
Tune in this week to FOX43 Morning News as we have different chefs in the FOX43 Kitchen from Willow Valley Communities.
Willow Valley is a premiere 55 plus senior living community located on Willow Valley Square in Lancaster.
All this week, chefs will be in the FOX43 Kitchen preparing special Thanksgiving Day dishes in anticipation of the Holiday. Every day, we will take a look at different parts of the Thanksgiving meal, including sides and desserts.
To kick things off, Chef Kristin Holloway from the Willow Valley Communities Four Seasons restaurant at Spring Run will be showing us how to dish up Green Beans Gremolata.
The recipe for the dish can be found below:
INGREDIENTS: YIELD 4 servings
French Green Beans, trimmed -- 1 pound
Minced garlic -- 2 tsp (2 cloves)
Grated Lemon Zest -- 1 Tbsp (2lemons)
Minced Parsley -- 3 Tbsp
Softened Butter or Olive Oil -- 3 Tbsp
Toasted pine nuts, almonds or walnuts -- 2 Tbsp
Grated Parmesan Cheese -- 3 Tbsp
Salt and Pepper -- To taste
DIRECTIONS
- Add garlic, lemon zest and parsley to softened butter. Blend well and set aside. (Can be made a day ahead)
- Steam green beans to desired tenderness.
- In a large bowl mix green beans, gremolata butter, parmesan cheese and pine nuts and toss well.
- Season with salt and pepper, but be aware that parmesan cheese can be salty.
