LANCASTER, Pa. — A Lancaster road was closed and multiple schools placed on lockdown Thursday due to a reported "swatting" incident, police said.

The Lancaster City Bureau of Police posted that they are responding to an incident in the 1200 block of Wabank Street, and that the road was closed from Hershey Ave. to Charles Road. Additionally, authorities say that Euclid Ave. was closed on both sides of Wabank Street.

The police department later said its officers were dispatched for what was determined to be a false report, more commonly referred to as a "swatting" incident.

The School District of Lancaster said that several nearby schools -- Hamilton Elementary, Martin Middle, Lafayette Elementary, Smith Wade-el Elementary, and Wheatland Middle -- were placed in lockdown as a precaution.

Lockdowns at all schools were lifted at approximately 12:50 p.m., the school district said.

The police department said the matter is resolved and all roads are clear as of 1 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation, according to police.
