Lightning sets Dauphin County construction site ablaze

An apparent lightning strike caused a building under construction to go up in flames in Dauphin County early Wednesday morning.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A lightning strike is believed to be the cause of a Dauphin County building fire. 

According to the Susquehanna Township Police Department, emergency crews were sent to the area of Commerce Drive at 5:25 a.m. for a building on fire. Initial reports stated the building was struck by lightning, according to the Susquehanna Township Police Department. 

The fire was mainly contained to the third floor of the building, an approximately 200ft x 75 ft apartment building under construction. 

The fire was brought under control within fifty minutes. There were no injuries.
