LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — A Lebanon County woman received a big belated birthday gift... a million-dollar check!
April Zipp picked up her $1 million commemorative check Thursday at BG's Value Market in Swatara Township.
According to Zipp, she won the huge prize after a last-minute decision to buy the ticket.
"I was having a bad day and he decided he was going to cheer me up, buy me some ice cream. While we were here, he bought the ticket and the next day, on my birthday, I checked the ticket and everything changed," recalled Zipp.
Zipp and her husband returned to scan the ticket soon after.
“The clerk scanned the ticket and told me it was a big winner and to sign the back,” said Zipp. “I went outside and cried.”
The couple plans to buy an RV with their winnings and travel.
BG's Value Market will also receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
