Flooding reports pour in after heavy rains

Monday's heavy rains have left some areas in Pa. flooded, causing road closures and other delays.

LEBANON, Pa. — Several roads remain closed due to flooding after heavy rains blanketed the commonwealth earlier on Monday.

Reports of flooding came pouring in as water covered roads across Lebanon County, carrying debris and danger.

Logan Brubaker had to find an alternate route to work after learning Greble Road was closed due to flooding.

“It’s not very often we get huge floods like this. [Flooding-related road closures are] something that doesn't happen very often,” Brubaker said.

Mount Zion Community Fire Company posted a message about Greble Road on Facebook, warning people not to travel through.

Just a short distance away, Long Road was also affected by flooding and was submerged inches underwater.

“I’m sure with the amount of water there is, it’ll definitely be here for a couple days,” Brubaker said.

Conestoga Creek Road in Lancaster County likewise experienced the effects of flooding; many drivers were forced to slow down due to standing water, hoping to not hydroplane.

“If you’re living around some creeks or flood areas, you’ll have to probably go around some water the next couple of days,” Brubaker added.

Erbs Bridge Road in Lancaster County was also seen flooded, with a vehicle partially submerged underwater.

People are advised not to pass through areas with standing water or move any posted ‘road closed’ signs - Additionally, Mount Zion Community Fire Company is asking drivers to not move any traffic cones on the road that block vehicles from accessing a street with standing water.
