LANCASTER, Pa. — UGI Utilities, Inc. announced that workers will begin doing a gas main replacement project in Lancaster Township next Monday.

The work, which the company said "is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service," will impact the following streets:

  •       Jackson Drive between Wilson Avenue and Meadowbrook Road
  •       Wheatland Avenue between River Drive and Gordon Road
  •       Wickford Road between Wheatland Avenue and Meadowbrook Road
  •       Meadowbrook Road between River Drive and Wilson Drive

Work on the project is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5 pm., UGI said.

Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours. Parking will also be restricted on the impacted streets during these hours. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of June, but weather and working conditions may impact the completion date, according to UGI.
