LANCASTER, Pa. — Police have charged a Lancaster man with possessing and disseminating child pornography.

Andrew James Witmer, 34, was charged after an investigation by Manheim Township Police, who claim to have received numerous CyberTips about a suspect who allegedly shared numerous digital files containing child pornography between September 2020 and April of this year.

Police say the files were sent by an internet user who went by the identity of "Young Slimer," an online profile investigators eventually traced to Witmer by way of subscriber and billing information that led to his Buch Avenue address.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Google Inc. content related to Witmer's account. Records also revealed many photographs and videos of pornographic material, police said.

Witmer was taken into custody and charged with four felony counts of child pornography and one felony count of criminal use of a communication facility.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David P. Miller, who set bail at $25,000. Witmer was released after posting bail through a bondsman.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for December 5, court records show.
