Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, with millions of Americans hitting the road for a vacation, road trip or long weekend excursion. But for the up to six million Americans who are at risk for anaphylaxis – a severe, life-threatening allergic reaction – there are more things to think about than which swimsuit to pack.

For people with severe allergies – to food, insect stings, latex or other causes – being away from home requires thoughtful preparation.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis and allergist Dr. Myron Zitt join FOX43 to talk about how following a few simple steps may help you be prepared should a life-threatening allergic reaction occur on the road.
