It’s been more than a month since authorities say Eric Frein ambushed State Police, killing one trooper and badly hurting another. As the search continues, State Police answered to lawmakers about the difficulties they’ve encountered.

Meeting
State Police held a closed-door briefing at the State Capitol to update lawmakers on the status of their search, 32 days in. State Police said there was another reported sighting of Eric Frein Monday night in the Poconos, but Frein has managed to elude capture since the September 12th ambush.

During the meeting State Police discussed where they believe Frein is and what means they are using to try to capture him. Members of the House of Representatives and Senate were invited to attend. Many who did, were from the Northeast part of the state.

"There's a lot of wooded area in my county, I'm in Lackawanna County and this is right next to us, Monroe and Pike. There's a lot of open acreage. Hundreds, thousands of acres where this guy could be. So I think it's imperative that we catch this guy so he is not a threat to the community," said Representative Marty Flynn (D) Lackawanna County, who attended the meeting. "They're very confident that he is in that area. They are very cautious and very careful in apprehending him. He is a threat to law enforcement and they want to keep him contained, and they want to capture him."
