Some Penn National Race Course workers went on strike Saturday night.
members of the gate crew and horse valets held picket signs outside of the race course and Hollywood Casino near Grantville in Dauphin County.
The workers are part of Local 947 and say the main issues are wanting to work 40-hours a week and be offered health insurance.

"There should be much more progress in here, we shouldn't even have a signed contract right now and there's no reason why, the demands, the union demands which are just basic living wages, the necessity, life necessity of basic medical," says Gloria Larrondo, President of Local 947.

The workers went on strike on one of Penn National's biggest racing nights of the year, with a number of stake races taking place.
FOX43 called Fred Lipkin, Publicity and Marketing Director at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and was told "no comment."
