HARRISBURG, Pa. — The National Civil War Museum (NCWM) will “bring it” to the floor of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center next month with a campaign to register new individual and corporate memberships in one of central Pennsylvania’s leading visitor destinations.

“We will provide membership benefit information and meet with attendees during the nine-day Great American Outdoor Show,” Mike Love, chairman of the NCWM  Advisory Committee, organized to provide recommendations and coordinate support to a series of historic public events to be featured throughout 2016  at the Museum, said today.

The Great American Outdoor Show, one of the premier outdoor events in the nation and central Pennsylvania, features over 1,100 exhibitors ranging from outfitters and fishing boats, to RVs, shooting manufacturers, artworks and archery, covering 650,000 square feet of exhibit hall space at the PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

“Tens of thousands of visitors to the city of Harrisburg will attend the show and we want to make sure they take a look at one of the most beautiful locations and historical destinations in our capital city,” Love said.

“Well over 200,000 visitors are expected in town and we’ll greet them with membership information and a very special historic firearm exhibit, reception, and related events at the Museum on February 10, as well as one of the most comprehensive historical narratives of the American Civil War in the nation — all while they’re visiting our beautiful historic city,” Love noted.

Capital Area Transit, in cooperation with Dauphin County, will provide free transit service from the PA Farm Show Complex to the National Civil War Museum for the special museum exhibit and reception Wednesday, February 10, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. “We will announce more about this exciting exhibit and reception in the near future,” he added.

The Outdoor Show includes a jam packed schedule of country music concerts, fundraising dinners, speaking events, archery competitions, celebrity appearances, educational seminars, demonstrations and much more.

NCWM representatives and board members will provide membership information at The National Civil War Museum booth (4522) during the Show. Show attendees are asked to stop by the booth for more information.
