The Adams County Conservation District’s West Nile Virus (WNV) program with assistance from the PA Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) WNV program has scheduled an ultra low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation in Fairfield and Carroll Valley Boroughs and Hamiltonban Township, Adams County. The operation is set for Monday August 5st, 2013 and begins at sunset.
The spraying is in response to high numbers of mosquitoes collected that have tested positive for WNV in those areas.
All of Fairfield Borough will be treated. In Hamiltonban Township, the area around the Fairfield waste water plant on Water street. In Carroll Valley Boroughth they will be treating the area around Sanders road.
The business license for the Conservation District is BU 6875. The District will be using Permanone RTU applied at a rate of 0.75oz/ac. Weather conditions and other unexpected events could delay or cancel this control operation. An alternative date for the spray due to weather or insufficient control will be conducted on Wednesday August 7th 2013.
This product is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes in residential and recreational areas.
