STATE COLLEGE, PA —  A Penn State professor that was reported missing August 15th has been found dead.

State Police  are now saying Ronald V. Bettig, 56, was pushed off a cliff at a quarry.

State Police say the Media Studies professor at main campus was found at the bottom of an 80 foot cliff at the Hanson Quarry in Potter Township, near State College.

Troopers have made an arrest in the homicide.

According to court papers, during an interview Friday morning, Ishler confessed to killing Bettig.  He has been charged with First Degree Murder, Third Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Tampering with evidence.

Ishler is being held at the Centre County Correctional Facility without bail.

His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 31st at the Bellefonte Courthouse.
