WARM PEAKS:  We hit 60° yesterday for the first time since December 23rd.  Today, we’ll make another run at the low to mid 60s.  Warmer air continues to nudge northbound ahead of the next storm pegged for tomorrow.  As a matter of fact, temps range from the 30s to 50s across the area this morning.  That’s the warm front moving through!  For today, enjoy the dry and mild weather, with periods of sun to clouds.  Tonight, we drop to near 40°.

WEDNESDAY STORM:  This thing is looking very interesting, with the chance for strong, gusty thunderstorms and then snow.  A potent, developing low pressure system will be rolling through the state during the afternoon.  We’re warm to start, with temperatures making a race toward the low 60s.  Then rain and a line of showers and thunderstorms look to set up by afternoon.  Shortly after the line passes, winds ramp up in the evening ushering in a batch of brutally cold air.  This comes with a batch of snow showers on the back end, but we’re not anticipating much accumulation out of it, as it will be fast and the ground will be very warm.  The best chance for an inch or so lies in our north and western counties.  Regardless, icy spots will develop as temps plummet overnight into the low 20s.  What a whacky Wednesday it will be!

Mild with a complex winter storm ahead

LATE WEEK:  The cold air is reinforced by very strong northwest winds on Thursday, on the order of 25-35mph.  Despite skies clearing for sun, temps will be held in the 20s with wind chills in the teens and single digits!  The winds relax a bit into Friday.  Temps Friday start in the teens, but milder air pushes in which allows us to make it to the middle 40s.

WEEKEND:  Saturday will be seasonably mild with highs in the low 50s Saturday.  We’re mostly cloudy on Saturday with a few showers possible.  Sunday, skies clear a bit and we’re dry but cooler with low to middle 40s for highs.  Monday, we’re even cooler going back to the 30s.

Make it a terrific Tuesday!
