YORK COUNTY, Pa. –  An alleged major drug supplier is arrested in York County. According to the York County District Attorney’s Office, Jason Lamont Holmes, 37, of Philadelphia was taken into custody in a parking lot in the east end of York City last week on December 17.  Inside his vehicle police found a bulk quantity of heroin which they believe was intended to be delivered to another person in York.

Holmes’ arrest stems from an investigation began in October when  a low level distributor from the Red Lion-Dallastown area was identified and arrested.  That person would then return to the Red Lion-Dallastown area to distribute heroin to persons who resided in those areas.

After the low level seller was taken into custody he identified several sources in York. Through further investigation and the cooperation of the low level distributor, other persons were identified who were responsible for distributing larger quantities of heroin to multiple persons in York City and Springettsbury Township. Investigators purchased different quantities of heroin from these other distributors, including multiple, individually bagged packages, as well as multiple gram quantities which had not yet been packaged for re-sale.

During the course of the investigation several of these mid-level persons were taken into custody and information developed from them pointed to a heroin source with ties to Reading and Philadelphia. Investigators developed information which allowed them to arrest Jason Holmes when he arrived in York on December 17.  A subsequent search of the Jeep Cherokee he was driving uncovered numerous pre-paid cellular phones and a bulk quantity of heroin. The amount of heroin seized from Holmes, if packaged in individual bags, would represent over 3800 bags of heroin which would have been sold throughout York County.

Holmes is charged with one count of Possession with the Intent to Deliver Heroin. He was arraigned and released after posting $30,000 bail.

The York County Drug Task Force was assisted by the York Area Regional police department, Springettsbury Township Police Department and the York County Sheriffs office during this investigation.
