A Lancaster man admitted to holding a stolen gun to a man’s head, then running from police until they used an electronic stun gun.

Robert Charles Lowden, who has a history with guns, has recently pleaded guilty in Lancaster County Court to four felonies concerning the April 17, 2015 incident.

Lowden, while apparently under the influence of synthetic marijuana, held a gun to the stranger’s head in the first block of South Prince Street.

A pair of constables came upon the scene and called for police. One of the constables stayed with the gun, which was a black, 6-shot revolver, until police took custody of it.

A city police officer and Constable Brandon Balmer eventually cornered Lowden, who was reportedly agitated and uncooperative. Police said that he acted in a “very violent… threatening manner” and had to use the stun gun to take Lowden into custody.

Lowden, 23, has been at Lancaster County Prison since the incident.

Lowden pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, receiving stolen property, and two firearms violations. He was prohibited from having guns due to a prior felony conviction of having a gun with an obliterated serial number.

Lancaster County Judge Dennis Reinaker, who has accepted the plea, will sentence Lowden in a few months.
